Overview
The Texas Private Security Level II – Non-Commissioned Security Officer Training Course is designed for individuals seeking to work as unarmed/non-commissioned security officers in the State of Texas.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) requires Level II training and testing for applicants seeking licensure as non-commissioned security officers. Level II is also a foundational training requirement for applicants who later pursue commissioned security or personal protection officer licensing.
This 6-hour course provides students with foundational knowledge concerning the duties, responsibilities, legal authority, professional conduct, communication, emergency response and operational responsibilities of a Texas private security officer.
Students may complete the USSA course 100% online through our Learning Management System or attend an in-person instructor-led class.
Completing this training course does not, by itself, constitute issuance of a Texas security officer license. Licensing/registration is administered by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Private Security Program, and applicants must satisfy applicable DPS application, fingerprinting, background-check, employment and licensing requirements.
